David Cronenberg

Here he is with Afton Porter, one of KUSI's many talented technical personnel.

Movie autuer David Cronenberg visited the KUSI studios on July 14, 2005 to talk about his most recent film "A History Of Violence." Cronenberg has directed many movies. He is perhaps best known for his work in the area of horror or violence. He directed one of my favorite movies "The Dead Zone," which was based on a Stephen King story.

Ralph Rubio

Ralph Rubio came by to show us how to make a great fish taco. Ralph is the owner of Rubio's Tacos. Rubio's Tacos started here in San Diego and have spread across the country. They are now called Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill. Here he is showing Susan & Dan how he does it.

You start with a soft taco shell, add your beer battered fish, sprinkle on some cabbage, and then squeeze some fresh lime juice over it all.

Ralph says it is not a great fish taco without the lime juice.

All of what were considered to be the 'major' candidates for mayor came by at various times prior to the election. Donna Frye came in first place, followed by Jerry Sanders. They will be in a runoff in November.

Jake the Swimming Dog

This is Jake the Swimming Dog. He competed in the Alcatraz to San Francisco swimming race in late July. He was the only animal involved. Of the hundreds of competitors, he finished in 72nd place! With Jake is Jill, one of KUSI's assignment Editors.
