I mentioned that I would pass along a few of the pictures I took on my recent trip to Utah in February 2003.


I stayed with my friend Haylee, and her family. They live at the based of Mt. Nebo, a large mountain. It rises up 7,000 feet from the valley floor to a height of almost 12,000 feet.


This is Bridalveil Falls. It is east of Salt Lake City, near where the Olympics were held.


These two guy are in the middle of the previous picture next to the yellow arrow. They are climbing the frozen waterfall.

My friend's beautiful daughter, Shandiin. Her name means sunshine in Navajo.

The moon rising over Mt. Nebo



In the late 1800s, this was painted on the rocks west of Mona, Utah by some local Indians. It marked the scene of a fatal encounter between the Indians and a Mormon settler.
