The most recognizable feature at Chichen Itza is the Kukulcan Pyramid. It is also called El Castillo, or The Castle. The pyramid is an amazing site. It is both a structure, a timepiece and a calendar. I spent almost 15 minutes in the Ball Court before anyone else joined me there. When I walked from there past the Platform of the Jaguars and the Eagles, I saw Kukulcan again. It was then I realized why I had the ballcourt to myself for so long. Almost all of the other people waiting to enter the grounds had rushed to climb the pyramid.

This is Kukulcan from the Platform of the Jaguars.
