Randy "Duke" Cunningham

On May 31, 2005, Congressional Representative Randy "Duke" Cunningham came by to
discuss some current issues. Duke earned a masters in education in 1965 from the
University of Missouri. According to his official biography, Representative Cunningham
was nominated for the Medal of Honor, received the Navy Cross, two Silver Stars,
fifteen Air Medals, the Purple Heart, and several other decorations for his service as a
Navy pilot during Vietnam. He eventually became one of the lead instructors at the Navy's
"Top Gun" school in San Diego. In 2004, he was elected to his eighth term in Congress.
He visited us before the controversy about the sale of his home to a defense contractor began.
On November 28, 2005, Representative Cunningham announced he was going to plead guilty to
a series of charges against him. He also said he was going to resign from his elected office.
