Alex Solis & Julie Krone - Del Mar Races 2006
Both Alex Solis & Julie Krone are Hall Of Fame Jockeys. They visited KUSI to talk about Opening Day
for Del Mar Racetrack's 2006 season.
Julie joins Susan Lennon.
She's the winningest female jocking of all time.
She is the only female jockey to win one of the Triple Crown of Racing!
Opening Day is lots of fun. Everyone has a big smile...
Lots of people have those big hats on, on Opening Day. It is fun.
Some of the horse have "attitude."

In 1986, Alex won the Preakness Stakes on Snow Chief
Alex has finished second at the Kentucky Derby three times.
He won six consecutive major riding titles at Santa Anita, Hollywood and Del Mar, beginning with the 1996 Hollywood Park summer season and ending with the 1997 Hollywood Park summer meet.
Through Sept. 25, 2005 was ranked 13th nationally with earnings of $7,018,248.
Despite sustaining a broken vertebra and three broken ribs, he still ranked ninth nationally in total purse earnings in 2004 with $11,554,851.
He won his 4,000th race with King Robyn on Oct. 24, 2003, at Santa Anita.
Alex received the George Woolf Memorial Award in 1997.
