These are some photos of KUSI Meteorologist & Feature Reporter Dave Scott.
Dave Scott is currently a Broadcast Meteorologist
and Feature Reporter for KUSI-TV. He is a perennial host for the Jerry Lewis MDA & Helen Woodward telethons,
and is also host and creator of "More of the Wild," an animal series featuring San Diego Zoo Goodwill
Ambassador Joan Embery. Now called "Wonders of the Wild," the series is part of the Saturday morning
line-up of KUSI's programs for children.
In 1997, Dave completed his certification in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. The
following year, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geosciences with an emphasis on Meteorology
also from MSU and in January 2001, was awarded a Seal of Approval in Broadcast Meteorology from the American
Meteorological Society.
Dave has been a TV Weathercaster for 16 years. In that time, he has covered sand storms, flash floods and
severe weather events in both Yuma and Tucson, Arizona, before taking on "El Nino" related storms in his
hometown of San Diego and in 2003, covered the Great October Wildfires from hotspots around Ramona.
As a reporter, Dave has been nominated for more than 2-dozen Emmy's, and has won several Associated Press
and Emmy awards for his feature story work. Recently, the Combined Health Agencies honored Dave with a
Health Hero award for his work on a series of stories with children who had survived severe burns.
After graduating from Grossmont High School as the League's "Golfer of the Year" in 1975, he went on to
earn an AS degree at Grossmont College, before completing a BS in Marketing at San Diego State University.
While interning at local TV and Radio stations, he completed the broadcast program at San Diego City College,
where he now teaches courses in Media Performance. Recently, Dave was honored with a plaque on the Grossmont
College "Walk of Fame."
An accomplished jazz trombonist and composer. Dave has been the featured soloist at numerous concerts and
recently completed a CD of original jazz and Latin music. His music has been featured on numerous radio
stations and recently composed the theme music to KUSI's "Good Morning San Diego."
When he's not sharing his knowledge and love of weather with children throughout San Diego's elementary schools,
Dave is busy raising his children Ayesha, Cameron and Connery.

Dave did live broadcasts from the February 2006 "Walk With Your Doc" event in Carlsbad.
