Press 'Enter' now and you will get to see a brief clip of director Guillermo Del Toro showing off the cue cards he used for the introduction, mocking some of the illegible writing on them. Now, go to the 'Special Features' section, accessible form the DVDís Main Menu. Highlight the menu entry 'Main Menu' and then press the 'Down' arrow key on your remote control to highlight another set of rings, which will give you access to a screen with an infamous quote by director Guillermo Del Toro. There are a series of quotes available and you can browse through them using the 'Left' and 'Right' arrow keys on your remote control. Finally, back on the 'Special Features' menu, highlight the 'Main Menu' entry again and now press the 'down' arrow key on your remote control twice. On the "Special Features" menu there is an X in the bottom, left corner. Move the cursor to the X to see a clip of Viggo and some locals talking about the story the movie is based on.

Another hidden feature of this movie is the truth about the story. A variety of sources have found no records of any of the races mentioned in this movie. The main character was a real man, but the stories he told were "tall tales." Here is one example. The Buffalo Bill Museum, after getting many inquiries, searched their records and could not find ANY record of Frank Hopkins ever working in Buffalo Bill's show, let alone being one of its stars. Here is a good website that lists many of the articles which denounce the movie's claim to be based on a true story: http://www.thelongridersguild.com/hopkins.htm
