San Diego is the southern-most natural harbor on the Pacific Coast in the United States. It is the primary reason San Diego became a large city. I have divided it into three areas: North Bay, NASSCO, and South Bay (my names). "North Bay" goes from the Pacific to the Coronado Bridge. NASSCO includes the NASSCO shipyards and runs from the Coronado Bridge to the Sweetwater River. "South Bay" starts at the Sweetwater River and ends at the salt flats in the southern end of the bay.
